2018
In 2018, I launched s collection of “poetry prints”. These used lines from my poem “Scotland the More” as well as reclaimed images of Scotland in the public domain including photographs and anonymous artwork. This poem is really close to my heart – it’s been taught in primary schools across Scotland and Glasgow University, translated into French and Dutch and even featured on the public transport of Brussels!
These prints were designed with the aim of putting her words into the hands of people – they could be collaged, mailed, framed or changed into something new. They combined historical images of Scotland with modern words and bold letters – showing Scotland’s history contrasted with the country it is now.
I also launched an interactive online map where people could explore the poem line-by-line on a virtual landscape of Scotland. It’s a lot of fun and even contains a toilet and a very specific sheep.
