2015
Whilst at university, I was the president of the University of Edinburgh’s Literature Society. During this time I ran their poetry slam which quickly grew to the largest poetry slam in Scotland, averaging an audience number of 150-200 attendees.
These slams became a hotbed for Scottish poets to perform and sent a large number of winners to the Scottish Slam Championships (which I got to time-keep and help promote online and let me tell you, I have never encountered more stress than holding a stopwatch at a national poetry slam!) Many poets, comedians and musicians cut their teeth as both hosts and performers at these slams.
