Homefound

In my head, this noisy bee became the mascot for the whole poem (I strongly believe every poem should have a mascot!)

Homefound was a digital poetry project created during lockdown to show how far a word can travel even when we can’t.

30 participants from across 13 countries submitted words and corresponding photographs that summarised what had made them happy during living through COVID-19. In particular, the project worked with those who were sheilding or finding it difficult to get out of the house.

The photographs were to be “metaphorical”, meaning participants had to take part in an at-home scavenger hunt to find something that represented their word.

The final poem, containing all the words, was filming across Edinburgh during lockdown and contained all the submitted photographs.

Homefound was supported by StAnza Poetry Festival‘s Micro Commissions and has been shown at the following festivals:

StAnza Poetry Festival, Scotland (2020)
Public Poetry Festival, U.S.A. (2021)
Book Arsenal, Ukraine (2021)
